Koochie Global Introduces Self-Powered Outdoor Fitness Infrastructure at Bengaluru’s Sankey Tank

Bengaluru, April 13-04-2026:In a first-of-its-kind development, Koochie Global has introduced a self-powered open-air fitness infrastructure at Sankey Tank Park in Bengaluru, marking a significant step towards integrating sustainable fitness solutions within public urban spaces.

The installation, developed in association with the Bangalore West City Corporation (BWCC), was inaugurated by Member of Legislative Assembly C. N. Ashwath Narayan. The facility was formally unveiled by Olympian swimmer Srihari Nataraj, underscoring its alignment with India’s growing focus on fitness and active lifestyles.

Powered by Human Energy

At the core of the installation is a kinetic energy-based system that operates entirely without external power sources. The cardio equipment generates energy through user movement, enabling real-time tracking of performance metrics such as time, distance, and calories, while dynamically adjusting resistance levels based on usage.

Outdoor Fitness, Reimagined

The facility combines both cardio and strength training equipment designed for outdoor conditions. Engineered for durability and high-frequency public use, the infrastructure aims to deliver a comprehensive fitness experience typically associated with indoor gym environments, now made accessible in open community spaces.

Strengthening Public Spaces Through Collaboration

The Sankey Tank project reflects a collaborative approach between private enterprise and civic bodies to enhance public amenities. Such initiatives are increasingly seen as critical to improving urban livability while promoting health-conscious lifestyles.

Planned Expansion Across Cities

Koochie Global indicated that the Sankey Tank installation is part of a broader expansion plan to introduce similar infrastructure across parks nationwide in a phased manner, with the objective of improving access to free and high-quality fitness facilities.

Industry Perspective

Commenting on the initiative, Roben Dass, Chairman of Koochie Global, said the focus is on creating accessible and sustainable fitness ecosystems in public spaces.

“The idea is to make quality fitness infrastructure widely accessible while reducing dependency on conventional energy sources. Public spaces can play a far greater role in promoting everyday wellness,” he noted.

At the Launch

C. N. Ashwath Narayan, speaking at the inauguration, highlighted the importance of such infrastructure in encouraging healthier communities.

“Integrating advanced fitness solutions into public spaces is a step forward in making wellness more inclusive and accessible,” he said.
